The Shimano Alfine wheel has an 11-speed internal gear hub which runs on needle bearings for increased durability and high drive efficiency. The Alfine hub is fitted with helical internal sprockets to increase durability, allowing it to perform better with high torque loading and provide a constant engagement for a smooth and quiet operation. Oil bath lubrication system increases durability and reduces friction in the hub while Labyrinth seals improve sealing performance both resulting in extending service life. The Alfine 11 speed has a silent clutch engagement which also gives a smoother quieter shift. Shimano’s precise manufacturing abilities have enabled them to construct the Alfine 11-speed internal hub to be there most efficient yet. Centre-Lock disc rotor compatible. 135 mm O.L.D. spacing.

Strada says: these need to be laced correctly dependent on the rim selected to perform at their best but we like them for the sealed up durability. Used in conjunction with a disc brake front hub for a tough pair of urban wheels on some Archetype rims. We can supply the requisite fitting kit too. Make sure the shift cables are smooth for best operation. We recommend changing the hub oil at 1000km using the kit from Ebay. A BMX chain is good for durability too.
