Strada says: these Maxxis Padrone TR tyres work nicely with the ENVE tubeless rims and seem to pop onto the rim without minimum effort. The ride is smooth and they last well.
The Maxxis Padrone is their lightest Tubeless Ready (TR) tyre to date (weighing in at 250g) and offers a slick tread (dual compound), great overall performance and an excellent road feel, which is thanks to Maxxis’s tubeless technology.
Using Maxxis’ TR technology from our mountain bike tyres along with a ONE70 (170 TPI) casing and a carbon fiber bead, we were able to create a race-ready tubeless road tyre. The Padrone-TR also features our SilkShield technology, protecting the tyre from bead to bead.
SilkShield offers protection from bead-to-bead whereas SilkWorm is found under the thread only. SilkShield provides an additional level of protection for sidewalls in addition to under the tread.
TR (Tubeless Ready) Technology
Tubeless tyres provide the rider with many benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tyre; and less chance of flatting since there is no tube. Maxxis Tubeless Ready (TR) tyres provide the benefits of a UST tubeless tyre without the weight penalty. Their TR tyres use a standard casing and require the use of a liquid sealant in order to make them airtight. Maxxis Tubeless Ready tyres are the only Maxxis tyres approved for use with liquid sealants.
