If you ride a 2015 onwards Specialized Crux, Diverge or Roubaix and have struggled to find a pair of SCS wheels to meet your requirements outside of the limited Roval selection we have good news for you – with the release of the Hope SCS road 11 speed hub with 24 hole straight pull spokes we can build a pair of wheels specifically fitting the SCS system to meet your needs (cheaper and better made!).
We can recommend several rims for road, mixed terrain, tubeless clincher + tubular cyclocross in alloy and carbon fibre. The alloy pair shown are with Pacenti Forza disc rims for a do-it-all pair of SCS wheels capable of road, mixed terrain and cyclocross use.
Here is a 2 minute video on our SCS do-it-all wheelset –
Hope SCS road hub – due to the unique rear frame design on Specialized SCS bikes we have produced a dedicated hub. The hub body has been reduced by 2mm to keep a perfect chainline, unlike many aftermarket solutions. The hub is then mated with specific 12mm through axle endcaps to suit the 135mm dropout. A matching, 12mm thru axle or QR front SP24 hub is also available.
Note – Hope do not supply standard rear axle end caps (regular ones don’t fit as the axle width is different) so if your bike has a standard road (skinny) REAR Quick Release we have machined identical end caps which use a 135 x 10mm RWS thru bolt from DT Swiss to allow the Hope SCS road hubs fit your bike. This 10mm bolt fits perfectly into the rear drop out with no modifications and strengthens the back end as a bonus. The adaptor kit is £50 for the end caps + 10×135 thru axle.

Pacenti Forza DISC – this a perfect rim for road racing, training, cyclocross use. Extruded from heat treated 6061-T6 alloy, the Forza DISC features a tubeless friendly bead well and seat design, welded construction and a disc brake specific profile.
Strada says – we like this rim for it’s good looks and durable satin black finish and removable decals. It handles spoke tension well and is tough against dings. A good choice for disc riders looking for a versatile rim to handle higher psi and also lower psi wider tyres. It can be set up tubeless with two wraps of the correct tape and a valve. This does mean it is harder to put a tyre on if you DO NOT move the tyre beads into the central channel to reduce rim circumference.
Short Chain Stay (SCS) is Specialized’s solution to sub optimal chain line and clipping your heels on a road based disc bike. Downside is there are not many options for wheels available until the release of the Hope SCS hub.
