Description

Tune hubs are designed without compromise; they have specially designed spoke flanges, superlight axles and use the ultimate in precision bearings with maximum protection from the elements with dual labyrinth & lip seals. The Mag 170 long held as the standard by which all lightweight rear hubs were measured. Although the 170 has recently been surpassed in weight by several manufacturers such as Extralite, it remains a popular lightweight rear hub. Revised in 2012 with a 17mm axle and bearings, weight savings features on the 170 include a machined aluminum freehub body, a stiff 17 mm aluminum axle and titanium drive ring.

Tune hubs are beautifully machined from 7075 T6 grain orientated heat-treated aluminium. Tune Mig Mag are perfectly engineered and seriously lightweight. The work involved in the manufacture of these items defies belief, in fact the bare ‘Mag’ hub body weighs just 53 grams, yet is machined from a solid aircraft grade billet weighing over 900 grams. Tune Mig Mag road hubs features include fully adjustable axles for bearing pre-load or the complete disassembly with just two Allen keys. Three pawl freehub bodies are now even lighter and stronger.

Strada says – the Tune Mig Mag combo was redesigned with a bigger 17mm axle to beef up the design. The anodised colours are vibrant, delivery time is on the longer side though.
